Before you place a bid on a lot you need to register on the Giving Lots website www.givinglots.co.uk this involves creating an account with a username and password.
Here’s how you do it…
- Go to www.givinglots.co.uk
- Click on To Register link on the top right hand side of the home page.
- Complete the form with your details ensuring these are correct, as Giving Lots will use these to contact you about the progress of your auction and to eventually dispatch the lot to you.
- When choosing a username and password pick something memorable.
- Click “submit.”
- You will receive a confirmation email to the email address you stated, this might take a minute or two to arrive. When it does, click the link to confirm your registration.
To place a bid
- Go to www.givinglots.co.uk
- Login in the box in the top right hand corner of the home page using your username and password.
- Follow the links to the Harestyling campaign page, or search for the one you want through the list of artists.
- You are presented with two options.
- To submit the next bid (which is shown on the lot page) OR
- If you want to submit a higher bid then put the highest amount of money you are willing to bid in the “autobid” box. By placing an autobid you will be the highest bidder and the Giving Lots website will automatically defend your autobid until someone offers an even higher price for the item.
